About the course

Postpartum is where yoga therapy can do its most decisive work — yet new mothers are routinely sent home with no rehabilitation plan for the body that carried and delivered a child. This course closes that gap with a graded, evidence-informed approach to postpartum recovery.

Participants learn to screen for diastasis recti using both inter-recti distance and the functional quality of midline tension, and to stage a return-to-practice timeline that accounts for the real differences between vaginal and caesarean recovery. The core-and-pelvic-floor work follows a coordination-before-strengthening progression, building tension across the abdominal wall rather than loading through it — informed by validated tools such as the PFDI-20 and by risk factors linked to operative delivery. Postpartum mood is treated as part of the clinical picture, with clear thresholds for when a client needs referral to a mental-health professional.

This is not a “bounce-back” class. It is a structured, individualized rebuilding of a resilient, functional trunk.
